Agra, The Taj and me :)

It has been quite sometime, just not in the right mood to blog, lotsa things upcomin, but i do hope dat i can finish this piece of memory before the stressful uni, tho its highly unlikely with me on the turtle pace to blog :P

okay, uni ah uni, i shall talk about you later, in about a month or so, but certainly not now.

haha, time to where the stories stop last time.

Bid Jaipur a goodbye, we took an early morning train from Jaipur to Agra, its a sleeper train, after the goa incidence, we are particularly phobia to train, but sleeper class are so much more better, people do stop and stare, but at least, at least we have a seat and the train journey last for only 4 hour, and Taj Mahal, HERE WE COME!!

Quite anticipating about it, as not goin Taj Mahal when you are in india is like not eating char koay teow when you are in penang, doesnt make sense :P

bored on the train, i took out the thick but extremely worth its weight lonely planet(the kamus of india lolz) to read about the history of the Taj.

A super simplified version, once again "bravo" to my memory power ZZZ...
Taj Mahal is build by King Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal who died while giving birth to their 14th child and Shah Jahan was in grief and decided to give his favourite wife a super nice tomb (super rich guy)

There is a few folklore about the Taj, some said, Shah Jahan kill or make all the people who involved in building the Taj blind so that the Taj Mahal will be the one and only piece of architecture in the world

And there is another site where Shah Jahan wanna build another tomb for himself, generally named as the Black Taj overlooking the white coloured Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River, we can still see some construction being done at the site long back and the place is like a abandobed and half build monument, can hav a really nice view of Taj Mahal.

So, wad has happen to the King?

He is imprisoned in Agra Fort by his son who blamed him for a big splurge on building the Taj, tho he did it out of love for his wife. During the last decades of his life, he spend most of his time in Agra Fort with a vy distant view of the Taj Mahal, wondering wad is he thking when he can only see this magnificient piece of building from such a far distance while he actually build it. Love doesnt rule huh? :P

Agra Fort

This is wad i understand from the book, jz so to hav an overview on wad's all about the Taj Mahal. Once we get down from the train, we get a cab for a whole day touring around agra for about rs900 (rm 60 for 5 ppl)

1st stop for lunch, i realised those driver like to take ppl for a cut throat restaurant, to get a free meal for themselves? ? hmmmm, not so nice food but nice ambience. we shud hav jz check frm lonely instead.

after a quick bite for lunch, we headed to the long waited Taj Mahal, did i mention after lunch? its 1pm in india, imagine how hot it is!! esp after the monsoon season, its particularly hot and humid, we nid to walk for quite some time to get to the ticket counter.

Its a 10 minutes walk and on the way, we are frequently harassed by all the touts, autos, horse carts etc etc who treat you as a walking wallet, can see $$$ sign in their eyes, no kiddin. Even kids can be touts, they can speak perfect english (with slang), innocent facies no more as has to face the reality so harsh, not their fault but i m sad for their future.

Well, if you hav watched slumdog millionaire, the movie scenarios does happens, and i have got my own experience, its a long story but anyway we manage to went into the Taj Mahal without spending the guide fees(o yea~)

The ticket cost you rs750 for a foreigners, the most exp entrance fees of monument in india so far, i wish i was a local to get rs30 for entrance.

okay, i shall shut up now, lets the picture speaks....

all the locals giving their best post to get a great photo of them with taj mahal, while i get all of them haha :0

love the skies and the combination with Taj Mahal

oh ya, i forgot to mention about the interior of Taj mahal, no pictures are allowed, i m a civilised citizen hence i din take any photo :P, but aft all those woooaahh on the outside of Taj Mahal, u wil feel dissapointed by the interior, its just two tombs.. two tomb with gates around it, dats it, nth more.. i m walking around the tomb and like: DATS IT? of all the queing up and touts fighting?? are you serious?

i feel like being somewhat cheated by the superior exterior huhu T.T and feelin a bit funny when the king spends so much of time, energy and money just to build a tomb for his wife kononnya out of love.. lolz, but he has made a great move i suppose, he is quite berpandangan jauh as he created uncountable profit for india and supports the living of evy hierachy of indian society :)

just my piece of thought when i look over the taj mahal from the other site of river.
