One autopsy

of all the four autopsy i went,
the yesterday's case 251 is the most unforgettable and different frm all other case..

it was a pregnant lady, carrying a seven-month-old baby.
Guess it's because of the sex, previously all cases i witnessed are males, so my heart is feeling a bit pain and sad when i see the long hair of hers being scrapped off from the scalp ( the pericranium )

The case is a RTA( road traffic accident) and the woman was suffer from subarachnoid harmorrhage and there isnt much bleeding from the outside, and the internal organs all looks smaller compared to male's especially the lungs.

Once the Medica Staff starts to make the I incision from the throat till the pubic area, the blood spills out like profusely, and i feels anxious that wil he cut the amnion or hurt the baby, at last aft the meticulous dissection, he dissect out the whole uterus, it looks just like a bag-like sac, cant imagine that it bears a life inside[ beared* :( ]

when the baby is taken out from the uterus, the placenta could be seen very clear, just like the diagram in any books, cant imagine that its these few blood vessels that feed the little baby from as small as a fist until it's borned..

at that very moment, i really feel so sad, depressed and sorry watching the baby and the mother.. The baby would hav wanted to see this crazy world and the mother would hav wanted the child to be saved instead of hers... if the time is right, i thk the baby could be saved, as it has reached seven month old.

the pallor face of his, its still fresh in my mind till now.

but this is reality, accidents happens all the time, whether its intentionally or not, maybe i jz shouldnt get too emotionally involved, but if there isnt any emotion or sympathy, this career is merely a business but not life-saving.

Indeed, I would say, studying here might be dull and dry most of the time, but v do get exposed, on autopsy and dissection stuff which others might dont get the chance to witness.

A challenging path ahead i'd say, but i had chosen it, the road not taken?
no point thking over anymore. :)

kays, enuf of old woman crap, i should be more mature, move on and study hard.
( when i saw our forensic science HOD asking the intern question, wad's the pontine reflexes?? omg, 1st yr has all flew away and nowhere to be found !! ahhhhh~~~)

life is precious, cherish it and live to fullest..
my sincere word to all aft watching 4 autopsy so far. and pls take gud care on diet.
I hav developed fobia -- a few cm thick of fat tissue layer, believe me 'bak yiu' is bright yellow colour, intense yellow!

  4. hey it's really a great post! the feeling of witnessing those things (no I dont mean the bak yiu part haha) is really not easy... and it applies also when u get to visit those bed ridden patients etc... it's really hard to tell the feelings...

I like reading this sharing of experience! keep it up o! and I truly agree with this "life is precious, cherish it and live to fullest.."!

Everything in life is temporary. If it goes well, enjoy it, it will not last forever. If it doesn't, don't worry, it can't last long either.

    Let's jia you together!
